Private Work Fees

Insurance Medicals

You may be asked by various commercial organisations e.g. insurance companies, or by government bodies, e.g. driving authorities, to have a medical examination. This is not a part of the GP’s statutory duties and for this work either you or the requesting organisation will be charged accordingly.

Charges for Non-NHS Services

In addition to the above we charge for various other items including letters supporting appeals, private sick notes, and travel certificates. Please ask at reception for details.

Examples include the following:

  • Medicals for pre-employment, sports and driving requirements (HGV, PSV etc.)
  • Insurance claim forms
  • Private sick notes
  • Vaccination certificates

The fees charged are based on the British Medical Association (BMA) suggested scales and our reception staff will be happy to advise you about them along with appointment availability for private medical examinations.

Standard Charges

Full Medical Report (Insurance Company/Employer) - £120.00 (no VAT)

Hepatitis B immunisation for occupational health reasons:

The Practice does not provide an occupational health service as part of their NHS responsibility nor can they provide this service to you even if it is funded by you.  Under Health & Safety Regulations, your employer has a duty to provide a safe working environment and, therefore, appropriate health advice for those at risk of infection with hepatitis B.  We advise you to contact your employer who will be able to make arrangements with an occupational health provider of any immunisation which you may require following an appropriate assessment of the risk to which you are exposed.
